Andy Perry

Accredited BACP counsellor/psychotherapists have met and continue to maintain BACP’s highly regarded standards of professional training, practice and development. When searching for a counsellor/psychotherapist, BACP accreditation acts as a kitemark. Accreditation helps clients, colleagues and employers make informed decisions about the counsellor/psychotherapist they choose – reliable, safe and ultimately better decisions.
I have over 17 years’ extensive experience working with parents, children, adults, families and couples.
My practice is based on an integrative approach, focusing on the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship in short and long term arrangements with individuals and organisations. I always work within a person’s learning style and adapt my practice to suit.
A special interest is working alongside children and adults who have specific conditions such as Autism and the many behaviour disorders such as ADHD.
Working with anyone under 18 years of age – this is an area of speciality. Sometimes it is appropriate to integrate the work with a young person into family work or sometimes the other way around.
I have an enhanced DBS (disclosure barring service) that is live and can be accessed by the relevant person or organisation in real time.
I work with safeguarding/child protection issues in relation to vulnerable persons. This is an area where experience, confidentiality and sensitivity are absolutely essential. Often organisations will seek support for their staff in times of crisis and parents/carers will seek support for the young person(S). Often safeguarding/child protection issues hit families and organisations without warning and can be devastating.
Over the years I have developed bespoke solutions for large and small, educational (private and state) and commercial organisations. Supporting employees is a duty of care every employer must provide. Working with companies/schools I can provide the employer and the employee a wide range of focused services often in a very cost effective way. I often work alongside OH and HR organisations.
My practice is delivered face to face, on the telephone and using Skype.
When appropriate I integrate my dog as pets for therapy.
I specialise in complex cases and I can often bring around a positive change. I am used to being called upon to implement critical incident policy and procedure that I have written and developed over the years.
I hold professional indemnity insurance.
I’m registered with several health care insurance companies. Depending on your healthcare policy you might be able access my services via your provider.
